Vallejo City Unified School District (VCUSD) works to ensure that website content is accessible to individuals with disabilities. We are committed to making good faith efforts district-wide in complying with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level.
This important goal helps us to deliver accurate, timely, informative, and accessible content to as many users as possible.Website Content Accessibility Guidelines
These important guidelines lay out standards website content managers can follow to provide more accessible web pages.
The WCAG 2.0 guidelines make the website experience more user-friendly and accessible to users with disabilities, including blindness, low vision, deafness and hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, and combinations of these.
Some of the areas that our staff focus on are page titles and headers, images with alternative text, appropriate headings, text and font sizes, closed captioning on videos, descriptive hyperlinks, avoiding moving and flashing content, and more.
