Help Sustain Student Health Services

Did you know that VCUSD schools provide free, essential wellness programs to support students, including Wellness Centers, mental health clinicians, psychologists, and school counselors? These programs play a vital role in meeting the mental and behavioral health needs of our students, but some of them, including Wellness Centers, have been funded with one-time funding that will expire at the end of the 2025–26 school year.

How does it work?

Under the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) Fee Schedule program, California’s health plans and insurers are required by law to reimburse public schools for covered mental health services provided to students. Securing this funding through reimbursement can help us build stronger, more comprehensive wellness programs to support all VCUSD students at zero cost to families – no copays, deductibles, or bills.

How can you help?

You can help us receive reimbursement by providing your student’s insurance provider name, policy number, and the name of the parent/guardian who carries the coverage. Aeries, our secure student data system, is now able to collect your child’s confidential health insurance information. If you are not comfortable providing this information, you may opt out and your child will continue to receive wellness services as needed.
