Understanding the CAASPP
A Guide for VCUSD Families

The CAASPP is California’s primary system of assessments that show how your child is growing academically, and helps our schools adapt to better support students in the years ahead. By measuring critical thinking and problem-solving skills, these results guide our teachers in delivering high-quality instruction and help us ensure every student—from early elementary through high school—is prepared for continued learning, college, and future careers.
