Mentorship, Experience, and Financial Support
You'll engage in a yearlong apprenticeship alongside an experienced mentor teacher, a unique feature of our program. This combination of learning and mentorship prepares you to make a direct and lasting impact on students and the communities you serve.
The Teacher Residency Program offers a comprehensive financial support package, including a $32,000 living stipend, with additional state and federal grants up to $15,000. You may also qualify for scholarships of up to $10,000, along with access to federal financial aid and loans totaling up to $46,000.
Upon completion of the program, you'll earn both a master's degree and a teaching credential, with priority consideration for a full-time teaching position at Vallejo City Unified School District.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Teacher Residency Program, candidates must have earned a bachelor's degree by June 2025 and have a minimum GPA of 2.65. However, a GPA appeals process is available for those below this requirement. Additionally, applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Tuition
The tuition for the Teacher Residency Program is set at $22,610, with the final amount confirmed in December 2024 for the Class of 2026. The program is in Vallejo, offering an immersive experience within the local community.
