Rent Our Facilities

All outside groups must apply for and obtain a permit to use a school facility. The civic permits website can process permit applications online.

All groups must pay for custodial fees outside of normal work hours. Additional time must be added to the event for custodial time to open and close facilities. Large events may require additional custodians. Site safety will be required for groups exceeding 100 participants. The number of site safety employees required will be determined by the group size and activity. Food service staff is required for all kitchen use.

Operations Services and Resources

CA Uniform Public Construction Cost Accountability Act

Pursuant to the provisions of Public Contract Code section 22034 and the criteria promulgated by the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission, contractors interested in bidding on District public projects, maintenance work, and other work that does not fall within the definition of “public project” with an estimated cost of $200,000 or less are required to complete and submit an Informal Bidding Pre-qualification Questionnaire in order to be placed on the District’s Informal Bidding Contractors List.

Custodial Services

Each school is allocated a specific number of custodians based on a Board Approved formula using square footage, staffing, and enrollment.

School-based custodians provide daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, offices and common areas during after-school hours. Restrooms are also checked, lightly cleaned and restocked multiple times every day.

In addition to routine cleaning duties, custodial staff spends a portion of their time setting up and tearing down for special events and receiving/distributing supplies throughout the campus. The Principal, Head Custodian, Operations Manager, and Operations Supervisor work jointly to establish priorities and frequencies for completing other cleaning and custodial tasks at the school.

Facilities Master Plans

VCUSD serves a diverse and vibrant community with a variety of schools and educational programs. This Facilities Master Plan (FMP) represents the next step in the District’s ongoing process of improving school facilities. The FMP will provide direction and guidance for the next phase of facilities improvements and build upon the success of past facilities programs.

This report includes information required to be filed annually by the Vallejo City Unified School District (the "School District") under Senate Bill 1693 (SB 1693). SB 1693 amends Sections 66001 and 66006 and adds Section 66008 to the California Government Code.
CDIAC Mello Roos Report 2024
According to the California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission (CDIAC), this report details the annual fiscal status for CFD No. 2. Under Assembly Bill 1666, the district is required to prominently display this CDIAC report on its website within seven months after the last day of each fiscal year.

Maintenance and Grounds Overview

The Maintenance and Grounds Department manages maintenance, repair, and safe operation of buildings and grounds operations. Our staff members manage and maintain all of the schools and buildings owned by VCUSD. To assure reliability, efficiency and adequacy in all building maintenance and operations, we track repair work from initiation to completion.

Site Safety

Ensuring the safety of students and staff at Vallejo City Unified School District is our top priority. Our dedicated site safety supervisors play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and orderly environment. As the eyes and ears of the administrative teams, they conduct continuous patrols, enforce school rules, and report unauthorized activities.

To enhance security, we have installed cloud-based surveillance systems across all our school campuses. Additionally, site safety supervisors actively participate in restorative justice practices, use positive reinforcement, and provide valuable classroom assistance to support a positive school environment.
