President Glenn Amboy was elected to the Vallejo City Unified School District (VCUSD) Board of Education in 2022 for his first four-year term.

Amboy has been actively involved with VCUSD since 2007 when his eldest child began kindergarten at Wardlaw Elementary School. His volunteer roles have included serving as a member of the School Site Council from 2008 to 2018, the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) and English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) from 2015 to 2020, and as DELAC co-chair from 2021 to 2022. He has also contributed as a parent representative on various advisory committees, including the Local Control and Accountability Plan. Amboy is a Vallejo Education and Business Alliance member and the Filipino American Society of Educators.

Originally from Chicago, Amboy attended the University of San Francisco, where he majored in psychology. While at the university, he was an active member of Kasamahan, the Filipino student organization, and choreographed traditional Filipino folk dances at their annual Pilipino Culture Night from 1990 to 1994. He also performed professionally with the San Francisco Barangay Dance Company from 1991 to 2001.

Amboy and his wife, Janice, have lived in Vallejo since 2000. They have three children, all attending schools within VCUSD: Wardlaw Elementary School, Hogan Middle School, and Jesse Bethel High School.
