VALLEJO, CA – Vallejo City Unified School District (VCUSD) is celebrating Jesse Bethel High School senior Beroj Arbab, who earned a perfect score of 1600 on the SAT. He scored 800 in both Math and Reading and Writing.

The College Board places a 1600 score in its highest reported percentile, 99+.

“Beroj’s achievement is incredible, and we are so proud of him,” said Rasheena Bell, principal of Jesse Bethel High School. “What makes Beroj so special is that he is so much more than an exceptional student. He has been taking math courses at Bethel since he was just 11 years old, in the sixth grade, and over the years, he has truly become a part of the fabric of our school community. Beroj is an incredibly well-rounded student who challenges himself academically while also giving back to his school and his peers. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this accomplishment with him.”

Arbab served as Jesse Bethel’s student trustee on the VCUSD Board of Education during the 2025–26 school year, bringing student perspectives to board discussions. He has also participated in the Academic Decathlon, the National Honor Society, the City of Vallejo Youth Delegate program, chess and military history clubs, and tennis.

“This score and the accomplishment it is, alongside everything I have always done, is for my community. I’m just a kid from Vallejo who always believed I could achieve more and do more through hard work, and the incredible group of staff, counselors, and students that I have grown up with, including my amazing family, have constantly helped me throughout the way,” Arbab said.

“Beroj showed us what student leadership can look like when young people are given a seat at the table,” said VCUSD Superintendent Ruben Aurelio. “We congratulate him on this remarkable academic achievement and look forward to seeing what he does next.”
