Vallejo City Unified School District Trustees, Superintendent, and Staff Engage with Vallejo Communities for National Night Out

VALLEJO, Calif. - On Tuesday, Aug. 6, Vallejo City Unified School District (VCUSD) trustees, Superintendent Rubén Aurelio, and staff members participated in the annual National Night Out, a community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. The event aims to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

The VCUSD team joined forces with the Vallejo Police Department, visiting various neighborhoods across the city. This initiative provided an excellent opportunity for VCUSD leaders to connect with community members, listen to their concerns, and express appreciation for their continued support.

"We are thrilled to be part of National Night Out," VCUSD Superintendent Rubén Aurelio said. "Engaging with our community is a cornerstone of our mission at VCUSD. It was wonderful to meet so many of our neighbors, hear their stories, and reinforce our commitment to providing a safe and supportive educational environment for all students."

Throughout the evening, trustees, staff, and law enforcement officials visited multiple locations, sharing information about district initiatives, listening to feedback, and strengthening ties with residents. The event highlighted the district's dedication to fostering strong, positive relationships within the Vallejo community.

VCUSD's Board President Dr. Latyna Young added, "National Night Out is a fantastic opportunity for us to show our community that we are not just educators but also neighbors who care deeply about the well-being of our city.
