VCUSD Announces New Principals for Federal Terrace Elementary School and Vallejo Adult School

VALLEJO, Calif. — The Vallejo City Unified School District (VCUSD) has announced the appointments of two new principals for the 2026–27 school year. Dr. Christi Glasco will lead Federal Terrace Elementary School, and Kelsey Corrales will serve as principal of Vallejo Adult School.

These appointments reflect VCUSD's ongoing commitment to strong instructional leadership and to ensuring every school and program is guided by experienced educators who prioritize student success, meaningful relationships, and equitable opportunities for all learners.

"Strong leaders help shape the culture of a school and create the conditions for students and staff to thrive," said Superintendent Rubén Aurelio. "Dr. Glasco and Ms. Corrales are dedicated leaders who understand that strong schools are built through collaboration, high expectations, and meaningful partnerships with students, families, and staff. We are excited to welcome them into these important leadership roles and look forward to the positive impact they will have on our students and school communities."

Dr. Glasco brings 18 years of experience in education, including 14 years as a middle school English teacher, before serving as both a vice principal and principal. Most recently, she served as principal of Highland Elementary School, which recently closed.

Throughout her career, Dr. Glasco has remained focused on ensuring every student has access to an exceptional education. She earned both her master's in teaching and a doctorate in educational leadership from Concordia University Portland, and is passionate about continuous school improvement, closing achievement gaps, and creating equitable opportunities for all students.

Dr. Glasco believes in maintaining high expectations while providing the support students and staff need to succeed. A proud Vallejo resident, she is honored to continue serving the community she calls home.

Corrales brings more than 14 years of experience serving students throughout the Bay Area and Sacramento region in mental health, special education, elementary education, and adult education.

Most recently, Corrales served as an assistant principal in adult education, where she led initiatives that strengthened student success, elevated student voice, expanded community partnerships, and improved systems supporting adult learners. Earlier in her career, she worked in special education and as a culture and climate specialist, partnering with staff to develop and implement systems that improved student success, school culture, and community engagement.

Corrales believes that the best ideas are built through collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to student success. She is passionate about creating organized, welcoming learning environments where students feel supported, connected, and empowered to achieve their goals. She looks forward to building upon the strong foundation of Vallejo Adult School while fostering a culture where students come first, accomplishments are celebrated, and everyone feels they belong.

Dr. Glasco and Corrales will officially begin serving in their new roles for the 2026–27 school year.
