High School Diploma

  • Adults of all ages may take classes that meet the requirements for a high school diploma. Daytime and evening classes are held throughout the year. Courses meet state and district requirements. Students who complete all requirements receive a high school diploma in a formal graduation ceremony. New students are assessed for basic skills and advised on courses needed to achieve their educational goals. Students are placed in classes according to their assessment results and high school transcripts.

A high school diploma from Regional Education Center requires 180 credits. Typically, a student earns five credits by completing a 60-hour course.

The diploma route might be better for you if you passed most of your classes in high school and have only a few credits remaining to make up.

Registration is required every 10-week term to be enrolled in classes.

    Steps for registration:

    1. Complete a registration form
    2. Take our assessment test
    3. Meet with a counselor to review transcripts and make a plan
    4. Enroll in classes

High School Equivalency Test Preparation (HiSET / GED)

  • Adults of all ages may pursue a certificate of high school equivalency issued by the State of California, bypassing an exam such as the HISET or GED. The Vallejo Regional Education Center offers classes to help you be prepared for the exam of your choice.

The high school equivalency testing route might be better if you only have a few high school credits, but you are now a capable student.

Registration is required every 10-week term to be enrolled in classes.

The Vallejo Regional Education Center is an official testing center for the HiSET exam only. Visit HiSET.org for more information about the HiSET Test.
