Preliminary CAASPP Results 2022-2023
Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Cheri Summers, Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services Mike Santos, and Superintendent William Spalding gave the Board a preliminary update on California Assessment for Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) exam from the 2022-23 school year. School districts are provided raw data from the California Department of Education (CDE), and will be officially released publicly after the CDE has verified it. Results could change with the release of official CAASPP scores. The trio emphasized that the results shared are preliminary.
For the English Language Arts/Literacy test, 5,004 students participated, equivalent to 96 percent of our student population eligible to take the exam. Of the 5,004 students, 26.46 percent, or 1,324 test takers, met or exceeded the standard. The other 72.84 percent (3,645 students) nearly met or did not meet the standard. These results are according to our internal calculations and may change with the release of the official results from the state.
On the math exam, 97 percent (5,004 students) of eligible students participated in the CAASPP testing. 16.45 percent (823 students) met or exceeded the standard, and 82.87 percent (4,147 students). These results are according to our internal calculations and may change with the release of the official results from the state.
Staff shared a myriad of stems and strategies in place for this school year to drive progress and improvement of these results.
