VCUSD's Holiday Extravaganza united the community in celebration of the joy, warmth, and magic that the season brings. The highly anticipated event was held on Thursday, Dec. 20 at Jesse Bethel High School, bringing together a sizable group. A gingerbread house-making contest, a balloon-popping game, raffles, gift giveaways, and delicious food united students, staff, and families. The event was not only a festive way to enjoy the holiday season, but it also served as a platform to promote positive attendance and mental health strategies.
We are thankful for the support of our esteemed community partners and sponsors who helped make this event a success:
The Hill Vallejo
Abundant Life Ministries
Friendship Missionary Baptist Church
Messi’s Toy Drive / Grocery Outlet
Pure Grain Bakery
In addition to the support of our community partners, the holiday extravaganza had the help of dedicated teenagers, including our school board Trustees Ronnie Taylor, Rhonda Thomas of the Superintendent's office, Trustee Flores, Dr. Edison Kelly, Principal Randolph (Pennycook Elementary) and Therapist Roy Smally added to the success of the event.
