California’s annual prestigious Teacher of the Year awards are an opportunity to highlight educational innovation, student learning, and the rewards of teaching. The program shines a spotlight on teachers who successfully employ strategies to elevate academic success and reduce the achievement gap. Vallejo Unified School District is proud to nominate Amanda Benguerel, a 2nd-grade teacher.
A seasoned educator of 23 years, Amanda has made an impact on her second-grade classroom at Wardlaw for the last 13 years. A team player, she continuously shares ideas, materials, and plans, constantly collaborating and strategizing with her peers to challenge her students.
