Board Briefs: April 28, 2022
VALLEJO, Calif. - Here are a few highlights from the April 28 special board meeting and a link to the full agenda packet.
Board votes to send formal Notice of Violation and Opportunity to Cure To Griffin Technology Academies’ Four Charter Schools
The VCUSD Board of Education convened for a special board meeting to review, consider, and vote on whether to formally issue the draft notices sent to GTA’s four schools–Mare Island Technology Academy Middle and High Schools and Griffin Academy Middle and High Schools. The board voted unanimously to issue the Notices of Violations formally. A Notice of Violations is the first step in initiating charter revocation proceedings against the four charter schools. GTA and its schools will have until June 6, 2022, to remedy or refute the violations, or the VCUSD Board can consider the action of sending a Notice of Intent to Revoke to one or more of the four schools.
The next regular board meeting will be held on May 4 at 5 p.m. Visit vallejo.k12.ca.us for details. You can also view videos of prior board meetings on YouTube by searching VCUSD Communications.
